Services & Practice

Editorial craft across industry, precision, and possibility

We design rigorous research, considered writing, and considered systems for institutions and independents who treat ideas as infrastructure. Six practice areas, one studio.

Practice Areas

Six pillars, one studio

Each engagement is led by a senior practitioner and supported by a small, named team. We refuse the conveyor-belt model — every brief is read by a human before a quote is sent.

How We Work

A four-step method, built for the long form

Our process is documented, predictable, and quiet. You will always know what is being made, who is making it, and when it will arrive.

Phase 01
01

Discovery & Brief

A 90-minute working session where we map the territory, surface constraints, and agree on a written brief. We charge a small fee; you keep the document whether or not we work together.

Phase 02
02

Research & Outline

Source-led research with a structured outline, an annotated bibliography, and a written thesis. We share a working draft in the open, not in a black box.

Phase 03
03

Draft & Revise

Two structured rounds of revision with named editors. No surprise change-orders; no disappearing act. We build the artefact with you, not for you.

Phase 04
04

Deliver & Steward

Final delivery with full source files, a 30-day stewardship window, and an optional maintenance retainer. Nothing leaves the studio half-finished.

Why The Studio

Three commitments we do not negotiate

They are not slogans. They are the conditions under which we accept a brief.

Senior practitioners on every job

The person you meet in the discovery call is the person who writes your report. We do not pyramid junior work upward and senior attention downward.

Fixed scope, fixed fee, on time

We quote against a written brief, not against a wish. If our estimate proves wrong, the difference is ours — not yours to absorb mid-project.

Open working files & sources

You receive the research corpus, the bibliography, the editorial markup, and the source files. The knowledge we generate for you remains yours, in full, in perpetuity.

In Their Words

What clients tell their boards

We are asked to be discreet, which we are. These notes are published with permission.

Cumdisgracetgp produced a 90-page industry primer in eight weeks that our investment committee cited verbatim in three separate decisions. The sources were rigorous, the writing was humane, and the artefact looked like a book we would have paid ten times for.

Elena Cortés

Managing Partner, Northwall Capital

We hired them to write a manifesto. They sent back a small philosophical treatise that became the founding text for our cooperative. Six years later we still hand it to new members on their first day.

Tomas Oduya

Director, Liminal Library Cooperative

The studio's information architecture work restructured a 4,000-page documentation site into something our developers could actually build. Three months in, our support tickets had fallen by 38 percent.

Mireille Saint-Just

Head of Product, Kepler Systems

Engagement Formats

Four ways to begin working together

We size engagements to the question, not the invoice. Most clients start with a single project and convert to advisory after the second.

Studio Sprint

Two practitioners embedded with your team for an intensive week. Ideal for early-stage positioning and architecture work.

Format C

Format D
